Greg returned to New Zealand in late 2001 to produce the international tour of Duncan Sarkies' 'Wild Man Eyes', based on his book 'Stray Thoughts And Nose Bleeds' which had previously won the Best First Book at the 2001 New Zealand Book Awards. Cementing his place as one of New Zealand's youngest, most successful, respected producers, 'Wild Man Eyes' toured for two years in 2002/03 playing in Wellington (three seasons), Dunedin, The Bay of Islands, Hamilton, Auckland, Nelson, Christchurch, Taranaki, Hawkes Bay, Melbourne and is in pre-production in Hong Kong and Holland. The enormous critical success of the show eventually led to the inauguration of an Arts Charitable Trust, of which Greg is currently Chair. During this time, Greg was spotlighted and profiled in newspapers, magazines, documentaries, news broadcasts and extensively on radio and television.
'Wild Man Eyes' marked Greg's 10th production since beginning his professional
producing career at the tender age of 20, with 'Bodyplay' under the direction
of Sarkies at Circa Theatre in 1995. Their first collaboration, the play
also launched some of the best known and talented young artists currently
working in New Zealand and abroad including Jemaine Clement,
Bret McKenzie, Laura Hill, Taika Waititi and Melinda Collie-Holmes (NIDA), the latter two nominated for an academy award and a grammy award respectively.
